Greetings!

If you are reading this, then you have found my new blog. I hope to offer on-line coverage of sports that are important to folks in South Mississippi and beyond.

I bring more than 30 years of experience in sports writing in the Hattiesburg market, at the Hattiesburg American and as a former Sports Information Director at Pearl River Community College.

My emphasis initially will be on high school sports in Forrest and Lamar counties, but if this proves successful, I’d like to expand to some of the surrounding counties and possibly add some college and junior college coverage.

I also intend to share some of my thoughts on sports, not just in the South Mississippi, but in the wider sports world. I will say up front that I am a die-hard fan of the New Orleans Saints, and I hope to offer some commentary on the Saints as they play through the 2018 season and beyond.

I hope to start offering some high school game coverage and comments beginning with the games this weekend, and go from there.
